Stainless Steel Door Sills
The 2002 Esprit V8 started all this off, when Lotus added the door sills as standard, along with a few other minor updates for 2002. These are available as an aftermarket item. But with a price of over £150, they're not cheap! So how you can buy some that have been designed to protect more of your sill and look better and shine more.
They come in pairs (which is lucky) with a special backing for attaching them to your sills. You can also purchase a special cleaning fluid to keep them shiny. It's Called "Shiny Sills" and can be easily added to your order.
You can now choose between the Steven's or Giugiaro Esprit logos for your sills
As you can see, they look great on the Esprit and fully protect your sills. Below is a simple installation guide (we like those at Lotus Esprit World) and details for ordering and pricing.
Installation
This isn't going to be the most difficult job you attempt on your Esprit, but just so you do it properly, I'll show you how it's done. Should only take 10 minutes.

You will need the following tools: Rag
or cloth |
Clean your sills with a some soapy water, or whatever you use to clean your Esprit. Make sure all the dirt and grime is removed. Once dry, you can position the plates.
Peel off the backing, and position carefully on the sill and apply pressure. Your thumbs should do the job!
Remove fingerprints with a cloth and then use Shiny Sills to give you new Stainless steel door sills that shiny new look. (model not included)
You've now given your door sills protection from those high-heels you "only wear at weekends" and transformed the entrance to your supercar.
Updated Design
Due to customer feed back about a more 'classic' shape giving a more OEM. The new batch of Sills have been redesigned. So new orders will be in the new improved style.

The plates for Stevens' & Giugiaro Esprits are ready and will be dispatched as soon as payment has been made.

The plates cost £85 per pair + £10 for carefully packaged delivery to mainland United Kingdom. Shiny Sills is available at £5 for a 300ml bottle (+ £1.50 p&p), which will keep the shine on your sills.

LEW's Verdict
A great product for the Esprit, made by an Esprit owner. Protection and style all in one! Less than half the price of the smaller, less protective Lotus ones. Lotus Esprit World will be getting a set from the first batch. How much more approval do you need?

Lotus Esprit World gets it's Sills
Lotus Esprit World took delivery of it's Stainless Steel Door Sill last week. 20 minutes later and the shiny sill where on the Esprit, setting the new Sports Seat off nicely. I'll be ordering one of Alan's Gearshift Surrounds next and hopefully an original 350 gearknob.
